It's Coming....

September 19 – 21, 2008

Dog Meet is a yearly event hosted by volunteer K-9 SAR teams in the Northwest region. The purpose of the event is to provide education training, and exposure to a variety of training methods and ideas involving K-9 Search and Rescue.

This year, it will be held in eastern Washington State, North of Spokane at Camp Reed. The YMCA founded this camp in 1915 along the shore of Fan Lake. It features 25 cabins, each sleeping 10-12 bunk bed style (please bring bedding!). All have electricity and most have heaters. There is also a central heated bathroom/showering facility with electricity.

Camp Reed has multiple other buildings that we will use as classrooms. In addition, there is an outstanding Lodge with full-size commercial kitchen complete with Camp Cook.

Camp Reed has more than 600 acres with many terrain features that we will use for various training exercises. We will also have access to the private lake and frog pond for training.

As a special feature of Dog Meet this year, we will be offering a class on rappelling with your dog. Check out the registration page for more information. Harnesses and helmets will be provided for this class (you may also bring your own). We need to rent this feature separately and so we are charging those who want to participate an additional fee of $30. Class availability will be dependent upon the number of applicants, so reserve your spot soon!

Please come join us!
